Sateen is woven more densely (1 thread over 4 threads), soft, glossy, more luxurious, and wrinkles less. Canvas is matte, slightly looser in weave (1 thread over 1 thread), firmer, but softens with each wash, wrinkles more, and in appearance can resemble linen.
